2015 BC 1-Day Walk and Inaugural Run for the Boobs

Survivors being celebrated at the BCSN Walk 2015

Survivors being celebrated at the BCSN Walk 2015

This weekend we had the pleasure of sponsoring the Breast Cancer Survivors Network 1-day Walk and Run. As many of you may know this philanthropy is near and dear to our hearts – Dr. Walton’s mother, the amazing Wannie Walton is a survivor and is celebrating 7 years remission.

We specifically loved being a part of this event because the money raised goes directly back to help patients in Georgia. The mission of the BCSN is to provide assistance, education and positive support services before, during and after diagnosis, treatment and recovery of Breast Cancer. Prior to the event, we were able to visit the local BCSN office and see all of the amazing resources like the Hope Closet and support groups available.

For any local businesses or individuals that would like to get involved in our community, we really can not say enough about how well this event is organized and the enthusiasm participants and volunteers alike have! Many survivors and their families/friends were present for the event and we can’t wait to sponsor again next year and form a team for Wannie.

Also, a shout out to the Rotary Club of PTC who was present and even brought 2 Dragon Boats. The Dragon Boat Race will be held in September and is an exciting tradition in Peachtree City. All proceeds go directly to the Breast Cancer Survivors Network.
